The award created by Loreto Mutua celebrates its third edition this year, thus distinguishes the work carried out by the Organization of Pension Consultants established in 1987.
Madrid, 29 November 2023. The airline industry mutual company, Loreto Mutua, has awarded this year with its traditional “Jon Aldecoa” award to the Organization of Pension Consultants, OCOPEN. In the third edition of this award, Loreto Mutua wanted to recognize the work of the entity, which has been working since its creation in 1987 for the development of social security in Spain.
From Loreto they wanted to highlight the work that OCOPEN has done for the promotion and consolidation of private social welfare, both in the field of labour relations and in individual savings, complementary to the public pension system.
The award ceremony, which distinguishes the best practices in social welfare, brought together representatives of entities and professionals in the sector, including the Confederation of Mutual Societies or Creand AM Bank. Jon Aramburu, CEO of Loreto Mutua, stressed that “these awards have the dual objective of paying tribute to Jon Aldecoa and providing a forum for debate on the future of Spanish pensions and the need for social security complementary.”
Jon Aldecoa, who in words of Jon Aramburu “was always ahead of the market”, passed away in 2018 and was one of the leading figures in the sector. Thus, Aramburu put on the table the need to “anticipate and make far-reaching progress with complementary social security in Spain. There is enormous potential to implement employment schemes in any sector and company and, indirectly, to participate in the sustainability of our pension system.”
Mariano Jiménez Lasheras, president of OCOPEN, who also wanted to remember the figure of Jon Aldecoa, stressed that “in Spain there is still a lot of room to develop social welfare. At OCOPEN we work to ensure that the authorities and businessmen have a greater commitment and that we continue to move towards greater well-being for all.”
The award granted to OCOPEN is also a recognition of an objective shared with Loreto Mutua: the commitment to the development and consolidation of social security systems complementary to Social Security.
